Barry Menard, Graphic & Web Designer Barry Menard

Barry Menard is the Graphic & Web Designer at Solid Uncoated in Providence, RI.

Graphic Design, Web Design:

As an independent contractor, I provide graphic design and web design support at any stage, from designing layouts to writing standards-compliant XHTML/CSS markup.

Web Design

Content is one of the key ingredients in any website. That’s why I start each web design project by organizing the information provided and designing an appropriate layout.

Front-End Web Development

I strive to write clean, standards-compliant markup for any website project I tackle. I can take a design and transform it into valid XHTML markup with complimenting CSS stylesheets, working directly in code to maintain clear information hierarchy.

Examples of my Work

Here are a some recent web design and development projects I’ve completed...

Methods of Operation

I work out of my home office in Providence, RI to keep my overhead and rates affordable. I communicate most effectively via email, can be very easily reached by phone and can meet locally upon request.

Although I try to keep my costs down and work efficiently, I take pride in my work, and my primary objective is always to provide my clients with quality service and professional grade design and development.

Kind Words from Satisfied Clients

Read some reviews from some of my satisfied clients...

Jeff Healey: Product Marketing Manager, Axeda Corporation
“Barry is a true professional that has mastered the process of working with a client – from capturing the initial requirements of a project, to providing compelling concepts, to delivering excellent final designs. I also feel very confident that any project assigned will come in on time and on budget.”
Christian Merhy: Managing Director & Founder, Invado Group, Inc.
“Barry is an exceptional thinker and graphic designer. He has a quiet strength that everyone recognizes. Barry has been one of the best employees and friends I have ever known. He is a 10 star individual in a 5 star world.”
Kenn Boostrom: Visual Executive Officer, Hotwire, Inc.
“Barry, [the current website development project] looks beautiful on all fronts and I really appreciate you stepping up and making it look outstanding! I know it was a tough one.”

Background: Education, Working Experience

I graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth in 2000 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design & Letterform where I learned about all the important elements of design, including form, color, typography, layout, etc.

I started my professional design career as an in-house Graphic Designer at Sunderland Printing in Hyannis, MA. After that, I worked for over 5 years as a Junior-turned-Senior Visual Designer at Hotwire, an Advertising & Design Agency in North Dighton, MA.

During this time, I was able to further develop my skills in print design as well as design for the ever-growing web. Over the past few years, I have been increasingly interested in web design and front-end web development.

I’m a very independent person by nature when it comes to my work, so when the time felt right, I decided to become an independent contractor.
